Nitin Gadkari Promises “Road Projects Worth Rs 2 Lakh Crore In Assam”

“During our tenure, roads worth Rs 30,000 crore have been completed in Assam,” Mr Gadkari stated

Dharmapur, Assam:

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday stated highway initiatives price Rs 2 lakh crore will probably be accomplished in Assam if the BJP is voted to energy for the second time within the northeastern state.

Addressing an election rally in Assam’s Dharmapur, the senior BJP chief exuded confidence that Assam will probably be one of many prime states of the nation, if the BJP is re-elected for the second time period.

“During our tenure, roads worth Rs 30,000 crore have been completed in Assam. Sanctions for roads worth another 50,000 crore have been given. At present, work is on for road projects worth Rs 35,000 crore,” he stated.

“Assam will have road projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore if BJP is voted to power,” Mr Gadkari, who handles the highway transport and highways portfolio, stated.

Assam may be termed developed solely when poverty is eradicated from the state for which the federal government has authorised a Rs 1,300-crore bamboo mission, the BJP chief stated.

“What Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and (Chandra Mohan) Patowary did for Assam in the last five years, it was just a trailer. The actual film is yet to start. You give your blessings and they will work again for your welfare,” he added.

Mr Gadkari was in Dharmapur, which goes to polls within the third section of meeting polls on April 6, to marketing campaign for heavyweight BJP candidate and minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, who’s pitted in opposition to Congress moninee Ratul Patowary.

The BJP is contesting the three-phase state polls with the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and United Peoples Party Liberal (UPPL).
