Man shot, police officer allegedly stabbed on Sydney’s northern beaches

A person has been shot within the leg by police after allegedly stabbing an officer within the hand on Sydney’s northern seashores.

Police had been referred to as to a house on Warringah Road, Narraweena, about 5.20pm on Friday after they had been approached by the person who was allegedly armed with a knife.

A confrontation ensued and the person allegedly stabbed a male officer within the hand and threw a fireplace extinguisher, hitting him on the top.

Police mentioned a second officer shot the person and he was wounded in his leg. He was taken to hospital underneath police guard.

The first officer was additionally taken to hospital for remedy. None of the accidents are believed to be life-threatening.

A important incident has been declared and the impartial police space command will examine.
